What are the requirements for full membership in the IIPG? How can I fulfill those requirements?

Full membership in the IIPG is open to any person who has worked for compensation, on a professional production, from beginning to end, in a position above production assistant.

"any person" means a human being, not a corporation, organization or a group.

"worked" means in any actual production capacity, including creative, technical and support positions. This includes but is not limited to: show runner, director, producer, writer, editor, line producer/UPM, coordinator, wardrobe artist, hair stylist, makeup artist, special effects designer, colorist, director of cinematography, camera operator or any other production assistant.  Production assistants, camera assistants, assistants to various departments on the level of production assistant do not qualify (though APOC does). Personal assistants do not qualify. Executive Producers who are investors or financiers only do not qualify - they must be hands-on producers.

"for compensation" means for actual payment. Services rendered for "copy credit meals" do not qualify. Complete deferrals of all compensation do not qualify, though partial deferrals may qualify on a case-by-case basis. Donated services may qualify, on a case-by-case basis, depending on the production (for example, a professional production done for a charity, which completed and used it in a major campaign).

"professional production" means a production which was released to a paying retail audience. The size of the audience and the venue of release are unimportant. Professional, by definition, implies that payment is made in return for the service one is performing. Accordingly, work done in film school, fan films or similar works, and productions which have never been released do not qualify.

"from beginning to end" means from or before the normal start date to at or after the normal end date of involvement in a production for the role the applicant was employed in.

The professional resume of the applicant, with credits, and details of the production(s) which qualify the applicant must be included with the application. Links with email and personal references the IIPG can verify the productions and the role(s) the applicant did in them is required along with the application. All references will be checked.

Upon approval of the application, the Full Membership will be approved. Currently, it takes up to 5 business days to process the application and approve the membership. This is variable based on the responsiveness of references provided by the applicant.
