Advisory Boards

Full members in good standing of the IIPG can be appointed to the IIPG Advisory Boards.  Advisory Board members are chosen for their expertise and experience in a given field. They focus on specific matters of interest to Guild Members, such as the changing film distribution environment, or the practice of charging producers to take pitches or charging actors to audition. They assemble industry information and consult with interested Guild Members. They then make their findings available to the Executive Board, along with recommendations they have have for Guild policy and procedure..

Members who have completed a full term on an Advisory Board are eligible to stand for election to the IIPG Executive Board.

The IIPG invites active Guild Members to stand for appointment to the following Advisory Boards:

  • Compensation Board: establish Guild rates for independent producers, production management, writers, crew, cast.
  • Accreditation Board: study Guild Member experience with outside industry entities such as agents, distributors, and recommend appropriate accreditation and/or Guild ratings for them.
  • Membership Board: act as Guild Representatives to specific groups of members. Assess membership applications and applications for member programs such as mentorship, apprenticeship programs and others.the
  • Distribution Board: study and recommend procedures and plans which benefit Guild Members access to paying markets for their films.
  • Finance Board: interface with various finance organizations, platforms and government, NGOs to devise Guild programs which will assist in investment and finance for Member productions.
  • IIPG Awards & Festivals Board: creates and runs the annual IIPG Awards, interfaces with various film festivals and markets.

Guild Members are welcome to suggest specific areas of focus for other Advisory Boards which the Guild could work on to their benefit.
