Is membership in the Guild open only to Producers? Or can people in other roles also become members?

Membership in the IIPG is open to any person, regardless of their specific role(s) in the production of film or other motion picture, new media, digital media (including the production of audio books), gaming (not gambling). Corporations, organizations, groups etc. cannot join the IIPG - it is restricted to natural human beings only.

Therefore, a director, a writer-director-producer, a writer, an editor, production manager or any other person (aside from a production assistant) who works hands-on in the production process can be eligible to join the guild.

What might be called "inside workers" who do not work hands-on on a film set, or people who administer policy for a corporate employer but haven't worked in a crew position on their own behalf, such as a studio executive (who may even have the title "producer") may not qualify. Although people in these positions work in the film industry, they are neither independent nor hands on, and do not qualify under the Guild's definition as a film maker.
