Joining the IPG is easy!

You can take out a FULL MEMBERSHIP, or a GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

General Membership

General Membership is open to any individual of 18 years of age or older. General members are suitable for film students, or any film or theatre creative who wants to keep up with the independent film industry , network, and benefit from the resources the IPG can provide. General members are a valuable supporting group for the Guild and help us cover the substantial costs of our programs.

General Memberships are a small $90** (US Dollars) per year - that's only $7.50 per month to support the IPG and get the above and future benefits! Your General Membership fee may be credited to your initiation fee in the current year, if you become a Full Member within the year.

Full Membership

Full Membership in the IPG is open to any individual, 18 years of age or older, who has worked on two or more Qualifying Productions*, for an aggregate work period of at least 60 days, and who intends to be active in the film community. If you wish to apply for Full Membership, be sure to gather the information below before you do so:

Your Full Member application form must include an application an upload a professional resume in pdf (max 2mb), a brief bio (1200 characters max), and (optionally) a photo (jpg or png, max 2mb), and the following information for TWO Qualifying Productions* you have worked on: Title, TRT, your role on the production, imdb, website (if applicable), link to sale/distribution/exhibition listing, supervisor & contact information, if any (obtain permission to supply this information before applying!), brief statement as to why you are joining the IPG and what you hope to accomplish within it (max 2000 characters, you will type this in on the last page of the application).

A Qualifying Production is one in which you have worked (a) for monetary compensation (the sum is unimportant, but the compensation must not have been deferred in full), (b) in a specific creative or technical role, and where the project (c) has been completed and (d) either (1) been offered directly to a paying audience, or (2) been licensed and actually paid for by a third party (deferred payment does not count). In other words, the production must have been delivered to a paying customer at some point. "Monetized" productions on YouTube, Amazon Prime and others qualify if you have actually received at least one payment from that platform, for the production. Non-monetized "free" exhibition on YouTube, Vimeo, website or other platforms, or screening in film festivals in which you were not paid a license fee does not qualify. 

Full membership is $320 (US) per year, with a one-time $160 (US) initiation fee**. You may also purchase a Lifetime Full Membership  for $2,500 (US), and initiation fee is waived in that case.
